The Château d’Auvers, owned by the Val-d’Oise Department, presents a fresh perspective on Vincent van Gogh’s artistic and cultural legacy in a new exhibition curated by Wouter van der Veen, a specialist in the artist’s life and work.

The exhibition first explores the sources of inspiration that shaped and guided Van Gogh’s approach to painting. It then examines how subsequent generations of artists have responded to and built upon his work, inspiring a diverse range of artistic practices.

Bringing together original artworks*, prints, archival material, contemporary creations and visual displays, Van Gogh the Influencer reveals a vibrant chain of artistic influences that has continued to evolve since 1890.
